VMSTV is Valley Middle School's Broadcast Journalism program. In its 8th season on the air, VMSTV students produce a live broadcast that features school and community news. Valley's broadcast journalism program has won the prestigious iVIE Award for seven consecutive years, and the class is considered a national model for middle school broadcast journalism.

In the fall of 2008, VMSTV was awarded the State of California's Golden Bell Award. This is the first time a Carlsbad Unified School District school has been awarded this honor.

VMSTV is a feeder program for Carlsbad High School's nationally acclaimed CHSTV.
